The decision seemed unianimous throughout that we'd like this sort of art style for our studio ident. Guild Wars 2's cinematics have a distinct painterly style and, matching our logo, we decided to use this same kind of style for our ident when introducing the logo as a ink-stain spilling onto the screen from a tipped-over ink pot. 0:20 -> 0:24 is great example.
